Kitchen Beauty : Home Beauty Recipes

After staring at my feet for quite some time, I've come to realize that they looked cracked, dry and plain ugly. It was time for a foot bath. While I'm at it, I thought I'd give myself a facial as well. So here are a few D.I.Y. beauty recipes that you can give a try!


Lavender and Peppermint Tea Foot Soak
(to relax and soften the feet)


Ingredients:

1 Tbsp Lavender tea leaves
1 Tbsp Peppermint tea leaves
1 Tbsp Baking Soda

Directions:

  1. Brew the lavender and peppermint tea leaves in a separate bowl
  2. Fill up a basin with 2 parts room temperature water and 1 part hot water
  3. Mix in the baking soda. Pour in the brewed tea
  4. Sit back, relax and enjoy the aroma of the tea

Banana Honey Soy Mask
(to deep cleanse, soften and hydrate)


Ingredients

1/2 of a banana, mashed
1 Tbsp honey
2 Tbsp soy powder (alternatively you may use milk powder or oatmeal)

Directions:

  1. Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl until a paste is formed
  2. Spread over skin and leave on for about 20 minutes
  3. Rinse off thoroughly

Baking Soda Face Polisher
(to smoothen skin and remove blackheads)


Ingredients:

1 tsp Baking Soda
3/4 tsp Water

Directions:

  1. Mix baking soda and water in your palm
  2. Polish face with the mixture
  3. Rinse thoroughly

Sweet Body Scrub
(to soften and smoothen skin without drying)


Ingredients:

1 cup Soft brown sugar
3 Tbsp Honey
3 Tbsp Olive Oil

Directions:

  1. Mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl until a paste is formed
  2. Scrub on damp skin in circular motion
  3. Rinse thoroughly

Egg Skin Tightening Mask
(to firm up skin)

Ingredients:

1 Egg white

Directions:

  1. Spread egg white all over face
  2. Leave on for 10 minutes until dry
  3. Rinse thoroughly
