Make-up Mistakes and Fix-its

Initially I've written a 2-hour's worth of a post. Unfortunately, due to some technical difficulties ie. my clumsiness with technology, the entire post disappeared. So, here it is -- the simplified version.
Make-up mistakes are often made and sometimes not awared of. In this post I'll be going through 8 of the most common make-up mistakes and a solution to every one of them. For some of them, I've personally recreated the mistakes and fixed them so that you'd have the confidence that these methods would work.

Foundation Mask

Mistake: Using a foundation that is either too dark or too fair compared to your own natural skin tone and not properly blending pass the jawline.

Fix-it:

  1. Dab on some contrasting foundation which would be a fairer foundation if your initial foundation is dark or a darker foundation if your initial foundation is fair

  2. Blend the colors together preferably with a foundation brush in a downward direction

  3. Extend your blending pass your jawline and down your neck until you can't see the separation line anymore. Finish off with powder as usual.

Visible Lip Outline

Mistake: Having a very obvious outline to your lips like cartoons have by using a lip liner that is much darker compared to your lipstick.

Fix-it:

  1. If you can, use a lip liner that is more similar to your lipstick.

  2. If you want to use a darker liner, blend the lip liner vertically to the middle of the lips with feathery strokes using a lip brush

  3. You can then fill in your lipstick and continue blending the lipstick to the outline of the lips. This will also create a dimension to the lips giving the illusion of pouty lips.

Eye Shadow State Border

Mistake: Using multiple colors of eye shadow but not blending properly causing obvious separation lines between colors.

Fix-it:

  1. Using an eye shadow brush or blending brush, gently drag one color to the other to conjoin them

  2. Brush in strokes over harsh lines to soften them.

Count Dracula

Mistake: Having red lipstick on your teeth as if you've just had a tasty meal of raw human flesh.

Fix-it:

  1. Clean your teeth with a tissue or Q-tip

  2. Stick a finger in your mouth, suck on it, and pop it out.

Albino Raccoon

Mistake: Obvious concealed dark eye circle mask due to using a concealer that is too fair and not blending properly.

Fix-it:

  1. Use your fingers to lightly smudge the area to lift some of the concealer

  2. Blend until harsh lines are softened and pat until the concealer settles in.

Messy Lids

Mistake: Shaky hands and uncontrollable reflexes causing mascara to smudge on eyelids.

Fix-it:

  1. Use a Q-tip and twist on the mascara flecks until removed

  2. Touch up eye shadow if required

  3. To avoid this problem in future, you can try placing a business card over your lids when you apply your mascara to protect your eye shadow-ed lids

Chinese Opera Blush

Mistake: Heavy load on blusher that it makes the cheeks look horribly sun-burned or have a nasty rash.

Fix-it:

  1. Use a cotton pad and lightly sweep over the over-blushed area to lift up some of the color

  2. Use a powder/kabuki brush to pat on some powder over the blush

  3. Brush on in circular motion to blend harsh blusher lines for a more natural look

Over-plucked Eyebrows

Mistake: Over-plucking eyebrows making it look artificial. This technique also applies to those who are not blessed with eyebrows.

Fix-it:

  1. Outline the shape and thickness of the eyebrows that you'd like to achieve by using an eyebrow template if you require one or just simply drawing on with an angled brush and eyebrow wax/powder

  2. Fill in the brows with short feathery strokes

  3. Smudge the harsh outline with a Q-tip

  4. Dust some powder over the freshly drawn brows.

I hope that these techniques would be useful to you. Everybody makes mistakes sometimes.

Hello mr/miss anonymous no 2. I think you are a no life, low life who is just too free to go around condemning other people's hard work and you just prove yourself an idiot/moron/pathetic loser. *claps* Get a life please. For starters, Go kill yourself and there will be peace in the cyber world and hopefully the real world.
