88-Color Eyeshadow Palette!!

It's Finally Mine!!!!!

It's exactly like the one from Coastalscents.com but without the hassle of waiting ages for shipping, paying extra "taxes" *ahem* and worrying my guts out that it's gonna break. I found this by chance for RM75. Not too bad, I would say, because the Coastalscents one is USD19.95 and having it shipped here (it's out of stock anyway) would cost me almost RM100. So, you can imagine my excitement when I got the palette! Since I have 88 more colors of eyeshadow, I'm officially BANNED from buying anymore eyeshadows until further notice (See Carmen? I'm declaring it publicly. hehe). Read on for more pictures and swatches! I'll post looks in other posts.

Each pan is the size of a 5 Cents coin which is really small but good enough for many many many applications. There's obviously a huge variety of colors ranging to whites, beiges, browns, blacks, greens, blues, yellows, oranges, reds, blues, pinks, purples, greens, greys.... yeah... huge. Some of the colors are matte and some has slight shimmer in them. All but the whites are incredibly pigmented even without a primer. The whites are definitely appropriate as highlight since the color is not too solid as to avoid looking clown-like.

The texture of the shadows is really really smooth and easy to blend. I do find that some of the colors are especially more powdery than others so gotta be careful not to put too much pressure on it (I can imagine it shattering in the mail if I did order it from Coastalscents!). I love that the colors do not dull while blending especially the purples. The staying power is good and it also doesn't look muddy at the end of the day. These shadows can be used dry or wet but in my opinion, you don't really need to use it wet because almost all of the colors are already so well pigmented.

The palette itself has a glossy case which is not what I'm too psyched about because it gets dirty easily with finger prints. But it's alright, I plan to decorate it at some point. It also comes with the mirror which I don't use because the palette isn't exactly palm sized. There are 2 sponge applicators at the sides of the mirror which is also pretty much pointless I guess. I was advised not to take it out in case I can't stick it back on.

This is an excellent palette to have for ANYONE! It doesn't really matter if you have a few or a lot of makeup, it's just a great addition. Having so many colors makes it easy to create color transitions and also easy to find the colors that you need.

I didn't get it from coastalscents though. i wanted to at first because there's a pre order going on here which I've already placed an order for a few brushes from coastalscents but the palette was already out of stock.

But the coastalscents one will be coming in mid July. I hope you'll manage to get them!

"I was advised not to take it out in case I can't stick it back on." LOL I should have read your advice. I just received mine today and the sponge applicators can't be put back!
I'll say it again, it will be great to search which look you have done with the palette ;)

Oh btw, do you know the dupes for Mac e/s? I looked on the net but could only find the neutral palette with MAC lookalike. http://jenniferdo.ca/blogweb/uploads/28neutralmacdupes.jpg
