Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous

You have been cordially invited to be in the midst of luxury, surrounded by elegant shoes and handbags that are a woman's best friends. Have some champagne and hors d'oeuvre with a pampering hand massage to make your visit even more exclusive and pleasurable. We are giving attractive discounts up to 40% on our collections just for today so, don't miss out! Be sure to take home with you a complementary gift pack courtesy of La Mer.

Hope to see you there.

How do you like my new hair?
Read on for close-up pics, description of items used and also a little surprise...

I wasn't a guest at the Jimmy Choo soiree, of course. Duh! Do I look like I can afford to spend 3 thousand Ringgit on a pair of shoes? (I got a paper bag though! Yes, lame. Drop it) Yeah-huh. I didn't think so. But I did sign up to be the hand masseuse for La Mer. No, I'm not a certified masseuse. I had a crash course and I'm good at improvising. The hors d'oeuvre (fancy talk for "small portion of bite-sized food which is served at a cocktail party") was catered by Chinoz. They had pasta, lamb kebab, ginger chicken, crab quiche, mushroom cap, some shrimp thingy, bread thingy... and for desserts they had berry trifle, chocolate mousse tart, strawberry tart... served with champagne, wine (red and white), fruit punch and soft drinks. I managed to snack between guests but I only had my champagne after my last guest since it's impolite to be drinking alcohol when on the job. :D My last champagne was 7 years ago and I forgot how delicious it tasted.
Anyway, I'm boycotting Jimmy Choo's "exotic leather" goods. All the time I was there I kept fidgeting over the fact that they made boots and bags out of snake skin *sobs* Poor poor snakey... And they had this leopard print bag (~RM10k) which was apparently made out of pony skin. Poor poor pony... my superior tried to comfort me by asking me to imagine that the pony died of a heart attack. They even have shoes made out of salmon skin and chicken feet skin. I'm not a hardcore animal activist but it's rather sad to know that people are prancing with snake skin wrapped around their legs. That's where the snake's innards were supposed to be!

On another note, I'm totally digging them gladiator shoes. Darn sexy! The grey one was quite a pain to put on because you actually have to unbuckle most of the straps before you can stuff your foot in. The black one's much more practical with the zipper.

Here's my look for Thursday. Green as inspired by La Mer.

You're going to that event? That's awesome! I've never seen a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes in real-life. As for your hair, it's cute!

I was already at the event but not as a guest. :( Please do read the rest of the entry. It explains a lot. Lol.

A House Of Cards

(1)

A house of cards

Is neat and small;

Shake the table,

It must fall.

(2)

Find the court cards

One by one;

Raise it, roof it,

Now it's done;

Shake the table!

That's the fun.
