RMK Cosmetics - Overview of Products

From the moment you pick up the packaging, RMK's an irresistible invitation to play, to experiment - and to become more gorgeous. 'Choose me,' the type on the silver boxes says. 'Take me. Open up...' At heart, explains Rumiko, 'RMK is about being free, fun-loving and life-affirming.' Offered the opportunity to create RMK, Rumiko seized the chance to express that beauty philosophy with a state-of-the-art cosmetics line designed to help women reveal their inner and outer beauty. Her aim: to help us discover and emphasize the individual qualities and features that make each of us uniquely alluring. Throughout RMK's creation and development (and ongoing), Rumiko works tirelessly to ensure that every product is simple-to-use. 'Most people aren't make-up artists,' she acknowledges, 'so make-up has to be effortless for everyone.'

RMK is a relatively new brand in Malaysia but it is one of the hottest cosmetic brand in Japan and it is said that fans over there have to take a queue number to be served. Personally, I am a tad skeptical because the response have been rather quiet over here but it is rather common to see very excited Japanese girls and women when they gawk over the products at the counter. The creator of this brand is Rumiko who is a celebrity make-up artist in the United States with the covers of Vogue and Harpers Bazaar in her portfolio. There are many products in RMK's product line so in this post I'll just be doing a brief overview of the products that I've tried and tested. If you'd like a more in depth review of a particular product, please let me know and I'll review it for you. I've already written the review for the Liquid Foundation, Creamy Foundation and Make Up Base which I will get up after this post.

Read on for my overview on 21 products.

My Two Cents

Stick Foundation: Heavy coverage. Rather drying thus not suitable for drier complexions.
Super Basic Concealer: Good coverage but kinda cakey and dry.
Face Powder N: Very fine and lightweight loose powder. Flawless finish. 1 shade with pearl powder.
Eyeshadow: Generally quite pigmented
Jelly Eye Color: Creates beautiful multi-dimensional shade. Gives a powdery finish. Easy to blend.
Water Color Eyes: Too frosty for my liking and difficult to blend.
Eye Crayon: Very smooth and gives a powdery finish. Can be used alone or as an eyeshadow base. Basic colors.
Separate Curl Mascara: Doesn't curl a lot but holds curl well. Separates beautifully resulting in shapely lashes with even peaks.
Longlash Mascara: Not working for me. Too clotted up with fiber that it's difficult to brush on mascara.
Ingenious Eye Pencil N: Chalky, not very sold color and smudges easily.
Eyebrow Pencil N: Oddly shaped but shades eyebrows well without looking harsh.
Ingenious Cheeks: Multi-dimensional cheek colors with excellent staying power.
Irresistible Lips: Generally very creamy and moisturizing but doesn't stay on too well. Mostly light and bright colors. No deep colors.
Gloss Lips: Too watery and slinky for my liking. The shimmer overload may feel rough on lips.
Mix Color for Lips: Nice pigmentation and texture giving multi-toned colored lips.
Irresistible Lip Liner N: Smooth and not drying with reasonable staying power.
Lip Essence N: Smells good, kinda oily and doesn't moisturize the lips long enough.
Face Powder & Cheek Brushes: Crazy soft. Light and short handles. Deposits powder and blush well.
Eyeshadow Brush: Soft but too bushy. Probably good for blending but not so much applying eyeshadow.
Eyebrow Brush: Perfect stiffness to fill in brows effortlessly
Eyelash Curler: Fits very well into the eye socket and curls lashes that stays curled the entire day.

What Does Little Birdie Say?

(1)

What does little birdie say,

In her nest at peep of day?

Let me fly, says little birdie,

Mother, let me fly away,

Birdie, rest a little longer,

Till the little wings are stronger.

So she rests a little longer,

Then she flies away.

(2)

What does little baby say,

In her bed at peep of day?

Baby says, like little birdie,

Let me rise and fly away.

Baby, sleep a little longer,

Till the little limbs are stronger.

If she sleeps a little longer,

Baby too shall fly away.
