I gave Make Up For Ever's HD Foundation a try even though I know that the shade didn't quite match me. Can you see the color difference between my face and neck? Lol! I have a pink face! I used shade #125 which turned out to be slightly fair when applied but then it oxidized to be darker after awhile... Such a pity! I loved the texture so much. It felt like a second skin and my face looked sculpted. It's not that I'm biased towards Giorgio's Luminous Silk Foundation. There just isn't a better substitute, be it texture-wise or color-wise.
I've swatched all of MUFE's Star Powder that were available at the counter for ya. Hope you'll find it useful for future use!

That's a lovely smokey look you got there Connie!! Yeah i agree that the MUFE foundation looks a little pink on you - at first i somemore thought you dusted blush all over your face! :D
thanks for the swatches!! The MUFE star powders look so sparkly and pigmented!!!
Thanks! Lol! I know! i was so pink. Such a bummer that they don't have more shades.
dat a cool,mysterious look..must emulate ni..
Ohhh i really can't tell the color is different to your neck, all I can see is bright looking skin :)Great smokey look
love the silvery smokey look connie :)
how does the star powder compare to MAC's pigments/reflects texture-wise?
i love the shade 927! nice!
p/s: there was a foundation i used before, cnt remember the brand. but after a while it oxidized, and to my horror my face turned black!
Kay: Thanks! Let me know how it turns out
Nikki: Lol! Thanks for being so sweet.
Jace: Thanks :D Ehhh... I would say that the Star Powder felt a lot like mineral pigments (which are fine and powdery) but with a better mix of colors. In fact, Star Powders ARE mineral pigments except for certain colors like the Orange. MAC pigments are a little bit "thicker" and slightly more clumpy but generally gives much better color payoff. And MAC has that slightly "moist" feeling... a creamier texture.
Pretty: It's really pretty! I liike 917 and 950. The swatch for 950 is crappy cuz the tester ran out but it seriously is a beautiful black.
YEah. that happens with some foundations. I tried MAC Select liquid foundation the other day and I literally looked like a corpse in a matter of minutes!
Connie, Did you use the Sephora.com MUFE Foundation Finder?
It has pictures of women and descriptions of their skintones under each makeup shade swatch. Shade 125 is described as "medium skin with beige undertones". You might try 120, which is for medium light skin with yellow undertones (which is what I use). It's really great with MUFE HD Powder, but I do have dry skin and foundations don't tend to oxidize on my skin.
Good luck!
Or, try the next yellow-undertone shade up, No. 127 (judging by your photo).
Cheers, JC
