My mother taught me to blend out a lighter eye shadow shade on the bridge of my nose for a sharper nose, and on the top of my cheekbones for a more defined look.

My mother always taught me that, when applying anything to your face with your fingers (ie. moisturizer, foundation, primer, etc.), always use your ring and pinky fingers, because the middle and index fingers are too strong and will pull at your face muscles and give you wrinkles.
Email to be emailed to you.
When I was a teenager then, mum being a thrifty person used to force me to dig my fingers to scoop out the left-over egg white to be used a face mask (after she fried the eggs)!!

When I 1st started to use makeup as a young teen, my mum adviced me to use less foundation because foundation is too heavy for young skin, especially if it's used during the day.
Instead, she told me to use loose powder over sunblock. Not only will my skin be protected from harmful sunrays, my skin will be able to "breath" while looking flawless during the day! And best of all, less risk of getting horrible break outs.
I still use her advice till today..

my mom told me to use the cinnamon (have to scratch it below a CLEAN vase/ceramic + a lil bit of water)and apply a thin layer to the scars on ur face and body..and eventually the scars will fade..but it'll take some time to fade though..it work for me;)
my mom taught me that home-made natural ingredients mask is better than any skin care brand mask.and she's the one that taught me how important is to exfoliate your skin.

My mum taught me that the watermelon peel(without the green skin)can be used to make our own DIY soothing mask!According to some lab researches, the watermelon peel can be easily absorbed by our skin and it has lots of functions such as whitening, soothing, and moisturizing! For an easy mask DIY:Get some watermelon peel(without the green skin),and cut into slices, put them onto our face, replacing the old slices with new ones every 5 minutes for 4 times.Wash our face with plain water and we are done! =D

I'm not from Malaysia, not participating in the contest, but TOTALLY had to share my mom's tip!
My mom started me out on facial wash, toner and moisturizer when I was only 10 years old! She taught me to clip my hair up when I sleep, and change my pillow case often to keep my skin good. And to apply things that go inside the skin in the opposite direction of the pores, so stuff goes in; sunblock and foundation go in the direction of the pores so it doesn't get in!
This is mine.
When I was a little, my mum always teach me to learn to love my veggies as consuming them would give great smooth skin. I never like them at all especially bitter gout. However, I hardly being choosy on my veggies at all. As I grow up, I learn what nutrients and proteins in the vege, I love my veggies now! Many other stuff that she tried to stuff me with like tomato and putting egg white on my skin. Haha!
Thanks Connie for organizing this contest!
I'm having a contest too. Please join ya!
Happy Mother's Day!
I missed out on providing my email add. Here it is...

My mother taught me on how to enhance my looks without overly done! Like sheering lipstick until it resembled a liptint, lightly dabbing lipstick on the cheek...and she also taught me on how to find a match for powder since I told her how I loathed powder because it looks too obvious and fake on my friends' skin :P (I was a school student at the time) XD She also taught me about using natural skincare...olive oil, rosewater...really did wonders for my skin. I love my mother. :D
This contest is awesome!

ONE beauty tip that has been passed down to me from my mom is always wet your face with water first and wipe it with a clean dry face towel before re-wetting and washing your face with cleanser. She claims that it preps your skin to be more absorbent and helps keep the skin cleaner hence preventing acne!
I'm not too sure if it's as effective as what she said but it has been a routine since 2003.

Since young, my mum always drilled me on NOT squeezing pimples no matter how big its infected head has become.. for fear of me having bad acne scars like my dad (his mum would run around the house chasing him to squeeze his pimples).

Mine was not a beauty tip but a skincare tip. First time I picked up the basic 3 step skincare habit, she told me to never forget the neck, unless I want baby smooth face but saggy leather neck

Hi, this beauty tip has been passed down from my grandma to my mum then my mum to me. Since young, my mum will keep all the rice washed water into 2 portion, one for me & another portion for herself, as face cleanser. Believe it or not, it did help us look & stay young.
Happy Mother's Day everyone!

My mum says to avoid applying blush color, 1 on higher position n another on lower position, I shld use my fingers as a ruler. I'm still using this method when applying blusher and this is great for newbies in makeup. Uneven blusher can be look like clown..Hahaha...

MY MUM STARTED ME ON MY 3 STEP SKINCARE WHEN I WAS 11 YEARS OLD..SHE ALWAYS SAYS THAT NOTHING BEATS A CLEAR SMOOTH SKIN.. AND SHE ALSO THOUGHT ME THAT APPLYING TUMERIC PASTE ONTO A PIMPLE MAKES IT DRY UP FAST.

My mom taught me to use aloe vera as primer. It not only controls my oily skin but also healed them.
acsmvtak@gmail.com
My mum taught me that the best skincare you can give to your skin is to drink enough water and have enough sleep.
ohmypetticoat@gmail.com
My mum taught me to use egg white as face mask when I complained to her about my pores problem 10 years back. She said that it will tighten up my face and so will reduce my pores size. Also, its richness in protein will help to improve my 'skin collagen' which will maintain the youthful looking skin. It sounded so cool and I tried out together with her. I was happy with the result and never stop doing it since then! Thanks mum!

I remember when I was small, mum used to crush those tiny little white powder from a glass bottle with her hands, mix with a little bit of water. Tap it on her face and my face. She used to tell me that's the trick why she's so fair. That're those days....!!
babee88@yahoo.com
Since i have started using cosmetics i have always run to my mum for advices and always share new products i buy with her and ask for her comments on my new stashes!
One thing my mum thought me was always to be gentle when doing my eye makeup and never pull or tug hard on my eye area as it will cause wrinkles easily!
email:huiying1989@hotmail.com
My dearest mommy used to say, if you want to look attractive, always SMILE! No matter how much makeup a grumpy person uses, not smilling just simply turns off people.
But a happy person, nicely groomed with make up done right, might just charm the hearts of people : )
when i was young, my mummy used coconut oil gently massage it into scalp evenly for me and my sis. and leave it on for at least 1-2 hours or even overnight, then rinse well follow by shampooing. do this every 2-3 times a week will help stimulate and moisturize the scalp~
Coconut oils also gives shiner, softener and healthy hair! this is a passed down tip in my family and I'm thankful my mummy did this for us. i think i should make a treat for my mummy this weekend too!
