Male Edition: Detoxify Me

Everyone knows that a good healthy body is a body that is toxin-free. We have yogurt drinks and other liquid supplements to make sure that our digestive organs are always performing at their best. But enough about the body, what about our skin? Guys will always be guys. To consume additional supplements for us to detoxify our body would just be another boring chore. However, this changes with the L’oreal Hydra Energetic Detoxifying Cleansing Foam.

Read more about it.

After a month of improper sleep and hectic lifestyle, I can definitely feel my skin starting to deteriorate. Like most guys, when projects, studies, outings, chores and everything else all come pouring in together, the first thing that we forgo is our skin. Therefore in the end, I was having a month of bad and dull skin condition. Then sorting through the package that Connie sent me, I found the L’oreal Hydra Energetic Detoxifying Cleansing Foam *thumbs up*.
Came in a sample tube of 15ml, the white marble-coloured smooth texture gel has a refreshing and energizing scent like most L’oreal Paris Men Expert products. Unlike the other L’oreal Men Expert products, this foam contains what is known as “Detoxyne” which already gives you the hint that is the ingredients that detoxifies your skin. Squeeze a little on your palm with some water to lather it up and then apply it on your face. However this foam doesn’t build up much so don’t bother rubbing your palms for more foam. After cleansing, you’ll find your skin feeling much more refreshed and having a very mild cooling sensation.

I gave this product a seven day trial to see the good and bad of it. Basically this cleanser has two actions. The first would be detoxification and cleansing the skin. On the third day of using it, my skin does feel brighter or we would put it more radiant because the foam removes impurities and excessive dead cells simultaneously energizing your skin. Another function that Detoxyne does besides detoxify and clarify the skin is that it softens the skin, preparing it for shave which I think was just superb.

The next action is L’oreal Paris Men Expert’s infamous Active Defense System (ADS), a powerful soothing active ingredient that reinforces the skin’s natural resistance which you can only find it in L’oreal Men Expert products. It leaves the skin feeling less irritant, more comfortable and most importantly less tightness.

Though this product is seemingly perfecto for every man out there, however for those who have a serious case of oily skin situation as well as dry skin condition should try to avoid this if possible. I myself have a serious case of oily skin condition and after seven days of using it, I’m sad to say that my skin tends to be shining (not radiant) after two hours or so which could only mean that my skin is oily yet again.

The good : detoxifying the skin and removing impurities and excess dead cells hence making the skin glow.

The bad
: could only hold up an oily skin user for a short period of time.

The verdict
: a definite good deal for guys who has normal skin (or mild dry or oily skin condition) who wants to detoxify and achieve a more radiant looking skin even with their heavy and hectic workload or lifestyle. Cheers.
