Behold one of my newest favorite liquid foundations -- Lancome Maquiliquide UV Infinite Everlasting Foundation. *Phew* That was quite a mouthful! Wait 'til you read the description on the box (attached at end of post).Lancome, proud of their latest addition to their liquid foundation range, gave the bunch of us a bottle each to try out. Bee gave a headstart in reviewing Maquiliquide and Paris soon followed. Having read both of their reviews and spotting the word "sheer", I was disheartened even before I started using this foundation.

So, how is it that this became a favorite? No, I didn't settle for sheer (you clearly don't know me!). Read on and I'll let you in on a little secret...
Use two pumps! Duh!!!! Maquiliquide is a creamier type of liquid foundation (compared to RMK). It is water-based (see "Aqua" positioned first on the ingredient list?) and gives a semi-matte finish. Please refer to the box description posted below because I won't be directly comparing claims.Packaging is a pretty classic frosted glass bottle with a straight pump. Good enough for me. My shade and somewhat accurate match is O-04 (O stands for Ochre).
There is nothing sheer about this coverage! Please don't misinterpret my statement. Bee and Paris were not wrong. If you use one pump, you'd have enough for the whole face but definitely with a sheer coverage. Two pumps and you'll get medium to full coverage. Seems like a no brainer? Well, not many foundations have buildable coverage so I was truly impressed with the Maquiliquide. The fast-drying formula is a complete dream to blend with the MAC109 brush, leaving no room for streaks or patchiness. Even blending with fingers works. As a glow-lover, semi-matte finishes aren't my cup of tea. This was easily fixed with a moisturizing makeup base (Majolica Majorca Skin Lingerie). When freshly applied, the foundation doesn't look its best with the color looking slighty too fair and giving my skin a white cast in pictures. It'll need a couple of hours for the foundation to completely settle in. The color does fluctuate (common with water-based formulas) but not extremely.
This is when the Maquiliquide truly shines (not literally!). Wearing this foundation, I received many compliments on how good my skin looked. The funny thing is, you'd be able to tell that I'm wearing foundation. Kinda like how when you see a celebrity on the red carpet or advertorials with kickass skin but you can obviously tell that it's not au naturale? In other word, you won't be fooling anyone but they'd be admiring your skin regardless. After 10 hours and no touch-ups (I'm serious! I don't carry powder!), my foundation looks completely in-tact and fresh. Heck, it looks better than when freshly applied! Without a doubt, this is the go-to foundation if you want to guarantee that you'll still look good at the end of the day. Probably just blot off some shine with pressed powder and you'll be ready for a night out.
Let's summarize the awesomeness of this foundation:
- Adjustable coverage
- Adjustable finish
- Super long lasting
- Easy to blend
Retails at Lancome counters for RM130/30ml, which in my opinion is pretty affordable for a high-end foundation seeing as Bobbi and Giorgio Armani are over RM160, Laura Mercier is RM150, RMK RM155... Regardless, it's still worth it because of the adjustable coverage which means that one foundation you can use for both day and night.

The foundation looks good. Been hearing lotsa good review on it. Maybe I'll try this after my foundy finished. :D
Woow looks great! YOu always have such nice dewy looking skin (: loves it. I'm partial to powder foundations but I've been wanting to dabble in liquid foundation for awhile now but don't know what to try xD
bathroom reading material? u r sooo funny..n i do so too...
btw,the 10 hour afta photo was really wow! it looks freshly applied..heh,cool~
I'm totally blown away :) you look gorgeous in the 2nd pic! I have the powder compact but wasn't wowed, it didn't set very well even though it had this powerful matte finish that was sweatproof as long as I didn't wipe it or anything. Time to save up for this!
You've 'warned' me on this and ur right!! It's amazing to see on how fresh u look even after 10 hrs-looks like i've reasonable reason to spend more on liquid foundation this month! *here flies the money.....(T_T)*
Hi Connie
You really look fabulous using this foundation!Like your bold make up too.

dear connie
I had set my heart on trying out the gorgio armani foundation as my next 'target'. But now I am undecided!!! the foindation looks flawless and best of all, its a matte type; perfect for ppl with oily skin like me!

Janice: I highly recommend it! :D
Erynn: I'm a liquid foundation girl through and through. Very few powder foundations look good on me. One of my very first liquid foundations was L'Oreal True Match. It's a very decent foundation. Perhaps you could give that a try as your first? :)
Kay: I actually do enjoy reading product descriptions! Kinda like reading the peanut butter jar or cereal box during breakfast... sometimes the newspaper they use to wrap the nasi lemak.
amazing isn't it? I was shocked myself.
Jasmine: I'm not very "educated" with Lancome products since I never know what's their signature product and what to try... Sorry that the powder version didn't work out for you :(
Cecobi: Lol! You're a bigger foundation freak than I am! I'm sure the Maquiliquide is here to stay. Finish up what you have first la... I should tell myself that :p
Pauline: Thanks! :D
Miith: As much as I adore Giorgio Armani LSF, I would not recommend it to oily skin since it's oil-based. It stays put for me but on oily skin, it will look very greasy after a few hours. They have matte formulas but I always find that the colors and texture were a tad off so I don't trust them. For GA it's only the Luminous Silk, Face Fabric and Shaping Cream foundation.
hmm.. i've started using Lancome liquid foundation about half year ago and it kinda suit my skin.. i prefer liquid foundation than powder as it wont be so dry!
Hi Connie!
This is my current HG foundie as well (I hope I don't jinx myself), and I usually apply one pump with my fingers.
But seeing your rave on the ELF brush, I tried it, but since I stipple & buff, the coverage is more sheer than fingers-application, AND I needed more than one pump.
Maybe I should try the MAC 109...Hmmm..
P.S. Did you receive my YT msg on the "pics"? :(
Hayley: Great that you found a foundation that suits you :) Powder can be drying for me too.
SueLynn: I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Using the elf brush will definitely use up more foundation. I find that the brush is better used with wet and runny foundations. thicker foundations tend to stick on the brush instead of being deposited onto the skin. the lancome foundation should be buffed on since it dries so quickly.
yes I did! Thank you :D I've sent threatening messages. I think I replied to youtube service. Lol!
I dunno...I guess if they credited you (with the URL to your review) instead of barring your eyes like a criminal :P and ALSO watermark their shop's name over your pics, it wouldn't have looked that unethical...Urrghh
P.S. No reply in YT from u, but THAT's YT for you! :P
OMG this one looks great even after 10 hours!!! Now i have 3 lancome foundations to headache over: this one, the neurowhite one and the photogenic one!! >.<
Sue Lynn: I wouldn't mind at all if someone asked for my permission to use the pictures and link my blog. *sighs* I'm sure there are a lot more out there. even my animal pictures get stolen :(
Jenn: hahaha, go to the counter and try all three! then pick one!
Ooo I'm excited to try this one!!
hm... I used this, it did not give me a semi matte finish lor, in fact it's a bit more dewy on me.
and no oil control, oxidizes on me too! Looked oily on me. I did ask Paris bout it, but she got no problem. Sigh, izzit a must to use a makeup base with this so it performs at it's best?
fuz: let me know how it works for you if you do!
plue: my skin in dry, my dear. so does Paris. you're probably on the same boat with Kahani from how you describe the foundation. I needed a moisturizing makeup base to use this foundation so perhaps you could use an oil control one? and water-based foundations are very prone to oxidizing so makeup base is a definite must.
thanks hun!
i most prolly can't live without my biore dy :p it works well in making me less oily :P
