Update: I'm Baaaaaaack!!

Missed me? :D You'd better!
I spent the last week of my holidays in Langkawi and came back with a TAN! Mind you, I tried really hard since, as predicted, there wasn't much sun.

School finally started which means I'm back in my room with my very own Internet line soon-to-come (no longer have to share with 6 other people!). While I'm not at all looking forward to studying, I am eager to regain my blogging momentum. I seriously have soooo many reviews and tutorials to do but simply didn't have the time/net connection to do them.

Read on for vacation pictures and an interesting little drama involving a waterfall...

View from the hotel. Not too shabby eh? Bella Vista Hotel is like a palace on its very own island. The rates are under RM100 per night (we got a better deal from a travel agency) but I'm thinking it's only until the renovation is over...

Island Hopping: Pregnant Maiden Lake, Eagle Feeding and Beras Basah Beach
The beach wasn't as clean as I remembered it to be but the lake never disappoints. There was a little section where we got our feet tickled by catfish

Payar Island Marine Park: An hour's catamaran ride away from Langkawi
There wasn't much of a beach but the water was insanely clear. It wasn't easy to snorkel around without hitting a fish or two -- sharks included

Wildlife Park: Some of my favorite birds... can you guess which one's my utmost fave?

Mammals: A very curious raccoon and a sleepy bear cat

Seven Wells Waterfall: In the morning of the last day we hiked up a very steep 500 metres

It was well worth it. Water clear enough to drink, picturesque view and best of all, no one else was there! Just as we were to leave, an Arabian couple came up and went over to the railing... The picture below should explain the rest

Note: I didn't draw this
Yeah, the man fell over the railing... We didn't even hear a scream. The wife called out to us and we thought they wanted their picture taken but she kept pointing down to the fall saying, "My husband!". There was no sign of him for a good 20 minutes and the wife was becoming hysterical. After we called the police and called around for him, he finally popped up from a pool about 20 feet down. Before that, I truly thought that he had fallen to his death. Trust me, the fall is very very very steep. Thankfully, he was barely hurt and we were all very relieved. I'd say that he should count his blessings because if he was off by 5 feet, he'd be a goner. Eventually, the police and fire department did come but there wasn't a helicopter as mentioned during the phone call

I will miss Corona beer for only RM4.50!
Bye bye Langkawi!

Night before I left for Langkawi, I found Plue's belated birthday gift waiting for me :D Thanks, sweetie!

P/s: I dropped my camera and now the screen's all messed up :( Still usable but I'm looking out for a new one

alamak...but it certainly sounds like you had a great bargain on your stay there!

the 'pregnant maiden lake' is reputed to have a white croc inside :D (and our guide chose not to tell us about the legend until AFTER we'd finished splashing around for a good hour!)

welcome back! :D
