I was told that the I Nuovi Facescape in Malibu Barbie was created with me in mind. Of course, I knew that Bob, Corporate Trainer of I Nuovi, was just pulling my leg since the product existed before I fell in love with I Nuovi. Nevertheless, I was very flattered and gawked at my beautifully sculpted cheeks. So full of myself, aren’t I? Need me a slice of humble pie!Tutorial for this look [click].

I Nuovi must have a secret technology in working with shimmer. Logic tells you that shimmer reflects light and not recedes. Oddly enough, that logic was defied by the Metallogy eyeshadows and now the Facescape is working the same magic.
So, we were schooled that for contouring, we’d have to use a bronzer without shimmers because shimmery bronzers will simply work against the purpose. How was it possible then for my cheeks to look contoured in the first picture? I swear I didn’t use a separate bronzer! Mind-boggling, isn’t it?
From the pan, you can tell that the duo has been quite used. However, you don’t really see me featuring this in my FOTDs and that’s mainly because I have this in my travel bag. It’s one of those cheek colors that can’t go wrong so I use it almost always when I’m not home to do my makeup.
This duo is like a huge pan of pressed pigments thus, you can expect smooth, pigmented and easy-to-blend colors despite the visually “rough” texture. Both blush and bronzer contain “special light-reflecting pigments” that are responsible for camouflaging minor imperfections (eg. lines) and providing that head-turning glow. The blush is a plum color that I’m not very fond of when worn alone but it looks stunning when layered over the warm golden bronzer. Malibu Barbie, the best-selling shade out of four, should suit medium light to medium skin tones. Not all of the shades are a blush and bronzer duo:Peaches and Cream: Blush + Highlight
In the Pink: Blush + Highlight
Sun God: Blush/Highlight + Bronzer
To get glamed-up cheeks, sweep the bronze color on the entire cheek following your bone structure. Then, apply the blush color onto the apples. You can also further define your features by bronzing the temples as well. I use either an angled blush brush (MAC168) or a contouring brush (MAC109) with the Facescape. My only gripe for this product is the packaging, yet again. The packaging is just not very attractive…. Function wise, there’s nothing much wrong with it since it does have a huge mirror. Some may prefer that it came with a brush but I’m not concerned with that.
Available at I Nuovi counters for RM86 or from their website for USD$36.50
