Review: MAC Mineralize Blush in Superdupernatural + 2 MSFs

Do you know what it feels like to find the perfect blush? The one that makes you smile whenever you wear it. The one that blinds you from all other blushers (maybe just one more say, NARS Dolce Vita?).

I'll tell you what it feels like. It feels like falling in love... only better. In this relationship, polygamy is actually highly acceptable :)

With MAC's latest Magic, Mirth and Mischief Collection came two brand new shades of Mineralize Blush -- one of which has been placed on my pedestal of makeup.

Read on for the review. This post also features MAC Mineralize Skin Finish from past collections; Refined and Brunette.

I'm not into reporting new MAC collections because I'm often outdated and there's really no point in re-posting old news. Not like I'm a MAC devotee anyway. Besides, Jenn's doing an excellent job as it is!

Superdupernatural (mid-tone coral): Warm coral with bronze sheen and sparse pale gold shimmer

The finely-milled powder factors the seamless application of this blush. Since I use a duo fiber brush to apply this blush, the relatively high pigmentation is welcoming. OMG! Can you see the sumo wrestler on the blush pan? If not, please click here.

Sorry, got sidetracked *coughs* Man, my swatch seems pretty sucky, doesn't it? Lol. The fact of it is, how bright the blush will look depends on your skin tone. In my case (NC35), Superdupernatural is cetainly super duper natural. However, the intensity of the color can be gradually built for night use. See what I mean 'bout perfect? This is also one blush that need not be bold to be long-lasting. The color actually looks even more blended and natural without fading as hours pass. Overwhelming glitz would not be a problem either. The healthy glow brings life to the face.

While I can't find anything at all that I dislike about this blush, I'd have to say that Superdupernatural may not be for everyone. Unfortunately, those with much fairer and cooler complexions may not find perfection in this blush.

Superdupernatural applied a little heavier for night time. Excuse the gold highlight which is from MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in New Vegas

MAC Mineralize Blush retails at RM95/USD$21. Superdupernatural is Limited Edition so get it while you can!

From Sugarsweet Collection
Refined (tan/peach/coral mealnge): Pale pastel-ish peach with subtle pale gold sheen
I dropped mine and it split into half T_T

This MSF has practically no grit and is one of the most finely-milled MSF I've come across. With barely any color at all when blended, Refined performs best as a subtle highlighter or a finishing glow powder. The added "oomph" it gives to my peachy blushers makes me reach out for this MSF quite often.

Refined is a Limited Edition color that has been discontinued for the time being. If it's ever repromoted, it's worth getting. For this look's tutorial, click here.

From Brunette, Blonde, Redhead Collection
Brunette (soft coral to copper bronze degrade): 5 strips of graduating colors in hues of coppery bronze

Trust me on this; the swatches look a lot better than the actual product. They're highly pigmented so it won't be difficult to overapply. The colors just don't hit it out of the park for me. I'm all for bronze but instead of a sexy golden bronze, it's closer to boiled-lobster glazed with butter... Ok, it's not that terrible and it's still usable but I normally do that out of pity

I love the glow but there's simply something wrong with the color :-/ I regretted not getting Redhead instead.

Brunette is a Limited Edition color that has been discontinued for the time being. For this look's description of items used, click here.

I actually have Cheeky Bronze but it's kinda forgotten. I guess I'll pull it out someimte after reading this post. I'm still considering whether I should get Superdupernatural. It's highly raved and silly me forgot to check it out. Was too blinded by the kits. =)

Wokay, maybe it's my imagination attempting to comfort me abt not getting the Superdupernatural... :P

It looks a lot like my Blush Trio in Warm Sunset from The Body Shop...Hhhmmm...

Ning: Thanks :)

Em: You won't regret it! :D

Aly: The kits were kinda "meh" to me so I paid full attention to the mineralized blushers! I tried both of them actually and had a tough time deciding but figured a warmer shade would be more suitable for me :)

Sue Lyn: Hey, if it gives the same color effect, it wouldn't mater what the brand is!
