At one point, I got tired of having to carry around a makeup remover and cotton pads when I travel. I figured the next best thing would be makeup remover wipes. The only wipes that I was familiar with were the
Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes, which I ended up buying. From my lack of enthusiasm, you can probably tell that I wasn't impressed with the wipes and you'll soon find out why.
So back I went to the

old school makeup remover, disappointed. That was until
Bee gave me a packet of the new
Biore Cleansing Oil - In Cotton Wipes.
Read on...
Size: Simple's almost twice the size of Biore, allowing me to cleanse a bigger area while I concoct a strategy to fully utilize the entire sheet of Biore.
Texture: Unlike Biore's soft, tightly woven sheet, Simple's wipe has a coarser surface that feels uncomfortably abrasive the longer I wipe with it. My skin would feel slightly sore after wiping.
Before: Both wipes were tested on half of a fully made-up face; base makeup, eye makeup including waterproof mascara, and lipstick.
Removal: Even though Simple's sheet was a lot bigger, it didn't manage to take off as much make-up as Biore did. From the density of makeup on the sheet, you can tell that Biore cleanses more deeply.
After: Simple made my skin sore and while most of my makeup seemed to have come off, there was a lot struggle in attempt to remove the waterproof mascara, which it ultimately could not. Biore, on the other hand, removed everything in half the time and left little to no eye makeup residue without aggravating my skin.
Test: To determine how much makeup was left on my skin after the wipes, I swiped my face with a cotton pad soaked in toner. Both wipes did not remove all traces of makeup but Biore obviously left less.
Verdict: Biore Cleansing Oil - In Cotton Wipes win by a landslide and I was surprised at how well they performed. Even getting waterproof mascara off with regular makeup remover can be a challenge! However, the size could definitely be bigger. The Simple Cleansing Facial wipes are more economical but they defeat the reason for using a cleansing wipe when I find the need to remove what's left of my makeup with a makeup remover.
Tip: To remove waterproof mascara, first, hole the wipe to your eye for about 20-30 seconds, allowing the cleanser to saturate. Wipe off the mascara with downward motions. If there's still mascara residue on your lashes, wrap the wipe around your finger and brush the lashes until all of the mascara is removed.
It is still important to double cleanse even though you use a wipe in order to remove any excess makeup left on the skin.
Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes are around RM12 (someone please help me clarify!) for 25 sheets while the Biore Cleansing Oil - In Cotton Wipes retail for RM6.90/10 pieces. The Biore wipes are also available in larger boxes (RM32.90/48 sheets) with a refill pack (RM25.90/48 sheets).

Great review!! I'm loving the Biore cleansing wipes as well!! Cheap and good! :D
Wow, thanks for the review!
I was hesitating for a bit whether to try Simple or Biore, as these are the 2 more popular ones.. Now after reading your post, I know which one I want already! ;)
Couldn't agree more with you. I've tried the Simple wipes too. And it sucks! But after trying out Biore, my impression towards make up removing wipes completely changed.
xx
great review! no wonder there's so much raves on it. i guess now i know which wipes to buy when i go travelling
Ahhh ... see, I was expecting the darned things to get EVERYTHING off. Will give it another go when they send me on a media trip again.
I never did give cleansing wipes a second glance because I found using make-up remover to work for me. But you gave a good point there in using them when travelling so I dont have to bring a bottle of make-up remover and cotton pads. Looks like Biore might be coming with me on a weekend trip soon!
i like the fact that they have a case for the wipes, refills and also travel packs. but yeah, pretty darn small! it's called cleansing oil but it's not even oily in any way! won't say it removes perfectly but for lazy/light makeup days, this definitely comes in handy! great price, great product :)
Jenn: Thanks! Not as cheap as Simple but still considerably cheap!
Hayley: welcome :) When I bought Simple, Biore hasn't come out yet so... haih... and I bought them on sale so I have another unopened packet of Simple lying around
Charming Vanity: Ok la, Simple doesn't totally suck. I suppose if I wasn't wearing heavy makeup and waterproof mascara, it should be able to get the job done.
Queenyee: I tried them before reading any reviews (simple because I wasn't interested) and I was impressed!
Kahani: Almost everything but not quite! Hope your 2nd experience would be better :)
Jen: The same. No matter how much I've heard of cleansing wipes, I just never gave them a second thought but just one fine day, I bought the Simple wipes.
Ee Von: Since I only use the wipes when I travel, the travel packet lasts me quite a bit and the packet seals well too so the wipes don't dry up. Nope, it isn't oily! Perhaps slightly moisturizing compared to Simple
I've been wanting to try this out but it'll be pointless if I'm unable to remove all traces of makeup =/
Isabel: It's definitely not a perfect substitute for a regular makeup remover or cleansing oil but it's nice to have for convenience sake
i tried both of them too,
yes, Biore is stronger to remove makeup
but Biore is more oily and sticky compared to Simple, but not too much
they make me feel like, Biore - cleansing oil, Simple - cleansing water.
lol
but both are okay for me, both have their own advantages
Orange: Nice way of putting it! The reason why I choose cleansing oil over cleansing water. I'd say simple would be more economical to use for light makeup days.
Thanks for such a comprehensive review! When you put them side by side you can really tell a difference. I like the Biore wipes, even though they are small but they really clean the eye area very well.
Shuaddict: Welcome! I can still manage to clean my entire face with the small sheet but it would be much better if it was bigger
Simple cleansing wipes are around RM15.88 each packet when its on promotion. N/p is around Rm17 ?
